Christmas is all about giving gifts and sharing the love. This is when your friends and members of your family get together and share the joy that Christmas brings. However, Christmas has also been somewhat commercialized, with people wanting to have the best-decorated tree, the most visible outdoor Christmas lights, and, of course, the most memorable Christmas card. If you are also somewhat in the grips of this, then you might want to consider sending Christmas photo cards. That said, doing so means that you also have to come up with an idea that hasn’t been done before.
Coming up with Unique Christmas Photo Cards
You may feel as if it requires some sort of special talent to come up with an idea for a card that will really stand out from the crowd and that will be remembered for a long time. It is understandable that they are quite stressed about that because these cards are very important. Often, they are the only communication you will have with an individual for the entire year.
What you don’t want to do, is put your entire family in their Sunday best, sit them around the tree, and show angelic little smiles. While this may have looked good in the 1930s, it is no longer the done thing today. You must come up with something different, such as:
- A recreation of the nativity scene. Place each of the members of your family in a costume, or even in modern clothes to leave people guessing somewhat. Include your pets in the image as well. You can get very creative with this, either making the nativity element very obvious or leaving people to guess somewhat.
- A recreation of a Christmas movie. This gives you lots of options since there are so many options to choose from. Not just that, you can again decide for yourself whether you want to recreate the scene in detail, or whether you want to leave people guessing somewhat.
- A college, that includes images of your entire year, or one that includes images of Christmases gone by. This is a chance to create a little bit of a story through the power of images.
There are no rights and wrongs when it comes to making Christmas cards, as it is all down to your own personal preferences. However, one thing that you should remember is that Christmas is a time of family and togetherness. Hence, do include every member of the family in the design of this year’s card. That includes the children, who are often so notoriously difficult in doing anything with the family. By including them in the process, you will also make it far more likely that they are happy to help and not pull any silly faces on pictures you decide to take. Do also try to have some fun with this. It’s the season for joy and cheer, after all, and coming up with fun ideas is something to enjoy.
