The R8 Spyder V10 Plus is the new addition to Audi’s exclusive R8 family. It becomes the fastest series of the convertible in the history of the brand with 610 horsepower and a top speed of 328 km / h. It will arrive on the road at the end of summer 2017.
70 more horsepower than the classic R8 Spyder
Under the hood of this new convertible, the V10 atmospheric engine of 5.2 liters (the same as that of the Lamborghini Huracan ) which develops a power of 610 horsepower. It is 70 more than the basic Spyder.
This block is mounted in the rear center position and sends its power to the four wheels thanks to the Quattro permanent all-wheel drive. The driving is sporty with the possibility to send 100% of the torque to the rear axle in the selected mode (Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, and Individual). This is combined with the seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission.
The Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus does not exceed 1,587 kg (including 208 for the structure and 44 for the roof) thanks to a structure largely composed of aluminum (79, 6%) and carbon fiber. This allows the new 610 hp and 560 Nm torque convertible to reach 328 km / h and from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.3 seconds, 3 tenths less than the Spyder. A distinctive exterior
To distinguish itself, the Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus adopts a shiny black honeycomb grille and even more carbon. It can be found for the rear spoiler as well as for door sills or lateral ventilation grilles.
If this new car has the same engine as the Huracan, the optional color green micromorts are also very similar to that of the Lamborghini.
A very neat interior, as always at Audi
The R8 Spyder V10 Plus benefits from bucket seats whose leather is specifically treated to not heat in the sun. It takes only 20 seconds to enjoy the blue sky while driving at 50 km / h.
Rolling hair in the wind does not prevent enjoying the Bang & Olufsen sound since speakers are integrated into each of the two seats. As for the telephone conversations, they are equally satisfactory via the microphone inserted in the seat belt.
The price of the new Audi Cabriolet was announced at 207,500 dollars s. That is 23,500 more than the R8 Spyder, proposed since 2016 from 184,000 dollars.
