If you do not want to buy your own, you can borrow a wallpaper table. Many DIY stores offer this service. In larger cities, it is also worth looking into the Internet, whether someone from the surrounding rented a wallpaper table. If one does not around the new purchase around, one should not reach the quite cheap tables. These are usually not very stable, which hinders the work. Good models are available from about 50 dollars.
3. Important tools for walking
Beside the table belong step ladder, tassel, and bucket, as well as Zollstock, pencil, wallpapering knife and water scales to the basic equipment. 4. Pay attention to the amount of wallpaper
Before you can start with the wallpaper, you have to realize how many rolls of wallpaper you need. Decisive for the demand are the room height and the room circumference. When pattern or photo maps are to be wall-mounted, the need has to be planned particularly generously, since more waste is generated. Also, pay attention to doors and windows. The different wallpaper rolls differ in width and height. We have listed the quantities of raindrops with the example of the standard roll at 33.5 max 0.53 m.
5. Prepare substrate thoroughly for wallpaper
To keep the new wallpaper good, you should thoroughly clean the background and remove old wallpaper and paintbrushes. They are otherwise detached by the paste and the new wallpaper cannot adhere to the wall. In the case of drywall walls, you should pay particular attention to If you forget the primer on a plasterboard wall and simply unload it, you will never get the wallpaper down again without damaging the subsoil. The wallpaper binds so tightly to the paper layer of the plasterboard that you would completely demolish this surface and the plaster would be exposed.
Whether the substrate is suitable for wallpapering, you should first test with a single web or a smaller piece of wallpaper. If you notice that the wallpaper is not connected to the substrate, you will have to make the restoration and prime the walls before applying the wallpaper. This is, however, still better than having the entire room finished wallpapered and then finding that the wallpapers slide again from the wall.
6. Wallpaper after plastering
Whoever has plastered the wall must wait until the plaster is properly dry. This can be determined by attaching a cover film on an area of 50 by 50 centimeters with adhesive tape for approximately twelve hours. If moisture accumulates behind the film in time, the new plaster needs some time to dry.

7. Let wallpaper enough soak
If the wallpaper dissolves again after a short time, it can be due to the wrong soaking time. If the wallpaper is too short, do not hold it on the wall. However, if she moves too long, she can tear. Always observe the manufacturer’s instructions.
In addition, the soaking time affects the size of the wallpaper. For the damp paste increases the wallpaper. Thus, a normal paper web in the dry state has a width of about 53 centimeters. If it is provided with glue, it can be 54 centimeters. For this reason, it is important to keep the exposure time after the peeling, according to the German Wallpaper Institute in Düsseldorf. These are manufacturer-dependent between eight and twelve minutes. Otherwise, the wallpaper will only grow on the wall – and beads will form at the transitions.
8. Important tips for wallpapering
One of the most important points when decorating is the correct folding of the softened wallpaper sheets. One end of the infeed web should be folded into 2/3 and the other one 1/3. The web must be folded in such a way that no areas are left blank. Otherwise, the glue will dry out in the soaking time of about 10 to 15 minutes and the wallpaper will not stick to the wall later. The pleats must not be smoothed smoothly, but soft loops must be created instead. Otherwise, the tracks can be difficult to put on the wall and you have later kinks in the tracks.
9. Avoid bubbles when applying wallpaper
It is especially with newcomers of wallpapering that the sheets blow after blowing. They can be removed with a syringe quite well. Available is the unusual tool in every pharmacy. The syringe should be as large as possible. Before it is used, the wallpaper is moistened in the area of the bubble. Then the syringe is pulled up with glue and sprayed into the bladder. Then spread the adhesive carefully and roll it smoothly with a paint roller. You can simply squeeze out the glue with a cloth.
10. Choose the right wallpaper for the wall design
Wallpapers differ not only in design but also in terms of material and surface finish. In the bathroom, plastic tapes should not be used as they cannot absorb moisture and are not vapor permeable. This can lead to mold formation in the worst case. The water condenses on the surface and cannot escape quickly from the room. To determine whether a wallpaper is suitable for your renovation project, you should pay attention to the symbols at the beginning and the end of each wallpaper roll or ask the specialist dealer. The easiest to process and probably the most popular are Vliestapeten.
11. Vliestape wallpaper
In Vliestapeten the surface is covered not with the covering, but with the wall. The most suitable color roller is made of artificial fibers. Experts advise: the shorter the pile, the lower the tendency to spray. The adhesive is a special veneer liner. Before this, however, the background has to be worked on: violet wallpaper with patterns absolutely need a white wallpaper change. Otherwise, it can happen that spots from the background through the wallpaper translucent.
12. Place the corners correctly
A wallpaper web cannot be wallpapered “around the corner” or “through the corner”. Therefore, measure the distance from the web to the adjacent wall and transfer the web with one to two centimeters over the wallpaper roll. Then stick the trimmed web to the wall like the previous webs. Cut off any excess parts with a cutter and a wallpapering bar. The remaining wallpaper rail is attached to the wall. Before this again the soldier falls.
